Many families have their own special family traditions that they have passed down through the years. As time goes on, some find it difficult to keep these traditions alive and relevant to new generations. Here are some ways these important family traditions can be kept alive.

Explain the Significance

One way to keep keep family traditions going is to take time to explain the significance of why the tradition is so important and what exactly it means. Taking the time out to go over when the tradition was started, who started it and why it means so much to family members is a great way to really get other family members to understand its importance.

Look for Ways to Make it Fun

Some family members especially younger family members may be hesitant to participate in family traditions because they view them as being old fashioned or as something they just are not interested in. In this type of situation look for different ways to make the traditions more enjoyable or even more modern. By doing so it is a good chance that they will become more interested and willing to participate.

Know When to Introduce Traditions

Knowing when to introduce family traditions is also extremely important. There may be some family members who are not ready or mature enough to appreciate them. Waiting till they are a bit older or when they begin to show an active interest will be the best way to get them really interested and more importantly keep them interested in passing them on.

For generations, many families have had many traditions that they have look back upon fondly. As our world becomes more materialistic, it can be harder to keep your family’s attention on the traditional. Often times, the small and simple things of yesterday that brought many fond memories are considered dull and boring when compared to the rush of the latest video game or electronic gadget.

The more that children are allowed to entertain themselves for hours in front of a video game or television screen, the more that family tradtions begin to fade away. The middle class has begun to shrink rapidly, and with it, there has been a decline in family vacations and other family activities. Many lower class families find most family-friendly events to expensive for their budgets, and they are left to think about other ways that they can create that family togetherness.

You can avoid falling into a materialistic lifestyle, simply by creating priorities that encourage time with your family. There are many affordable activities, like going on a walk, playing in the park, or even just taking a basketball and shooting so hoops at the local elementary school. There are many ways that you can get your children up and off the couch and outside building family relationships that will benefit them for a lifetime. Video games fade, but traditions can live on forever throughout generations. Taking the time to make your family a priority will set a standard for generations to come. There is not a better gift that can be given than time.

Everyone loves dressing up for Halloween since it’s a chance to really get creative with your costume. One of the most popular things to do for Halloween is to dress up your dog up in a cute or funny outfit. Buying a Halloween costume for your new puppy isn’t a difficult thing to do.

The Middle Class

The American middle class is a social class in the United States. Among the three social classes, middle class is the largest. People in the middle class are relatively well off and have the potential to reach the upper class if they wish. The lower middle class are usually semi-professionals and usually earn from $35,000 to $75,000. They will usually have some college education. Most lower middle classmen are white collar and have a standard way of living.

Middle class are the people who have a college education and have a career. They usually have an income that is relatively above average. The upper middle class are the people with a graduate degree or an equivalent high education. They are usually professionals and managers and sometimes make over $100,000. The people in the upper middle class are the people who have a high education and do professional work, such as doctors, dentists, lawyers, politicians, and other people of equivalent social status.

The lower middle class are workers, but not manual laborers. They are lower paid white collar workers with some sort of degree such as a policeman, fire fighter, teachers, etc. lower lower class are the homeless or the working poor. A college education is one of the main things that make someone a middle classman. Income in the middle class varies greatly since there are so many people in the middle class. Some people can make over $100,000 and still be considered a middle classman. The middle class consists of most of the people who have a college degree and have a successful career. They are not rich, but they make a comfortable living. With time, middle classmen can work their way to the upper class, but most stay in the middle class.

Creating A Family Tradition

Spending time together as a family is very important to keep your family together. Children grow up better and tend to have a better social life if they grow up with a family with a strong healthy relationship. Starting a family tradition is a great way to bring your family closer together. Traditions are what people look forward to every year and you can have lasting memories as your children grow up.

Keep you and your family healthy by exercising, eating right, and getting proper rest. When you are unhealthy and tired, you most likely wont be too excited about starting a tradition. You need your energy so you can get organized and have fun doing it.

Think of a tradition you really want to start. You will want it to be something the whole family enjoys doing. Think of your whole family and not just yourself. Involve everyone in the family and get their support. Have something for everyone to do and they will like doing. It will be more successful if everyone has a part in it. For example, if you want to start having a Christmas party every year, assign one person to decorations, another for invitations, and so on. When everyone has their own responsibilities, it makes it more enjoyable for everyone.

Be creative. It doesn’t have to be something huge. Maybe you want to have a family sleepover night, or family game night. It can be as simple or elaborate as you wish. Just make it fun.

Depending on the tradition you are starting, you may want to plan a menu. A lot of great traditions will involve food. Have the tradition each year and keep it exciting and something to look forward to.

Pain and Suffering Damages: Legal Compensation for Lifestyle Losses

Pain and suffering in legal terms refers to the physical or mental anguish that might accompany or result from an accident and personal injury and for which a plaintiff may seek compensation in a lawsuit. Essentially, this type of damage award is intended to compensate for injuries manifesting as certain harms or detriment to the victim’s lifestyle previously enjoyed.

Examples:

Logically, “pain” refers to the physical harm caused by a personal injury, while “suffering” encompasses the mental harm and emotional distress thereby resulting. For example, a broken bone causes physical pain, which, in turn, can impair an injured woman’s ability to work, play with her children or have sex with her husband. This inhibition of human function can correspondingly lead to her suffering psychologically, from any number of symptoms or conditions.

More acute or longer term pain inevitably tends to cause the most severe suffering. A victim rendered handicapped or disfigured is often forced to dramatically transform her way of living—her lifestyle and the traditions that shaped it. She might, consequently, become deeply and even irreparably unhinged, possibly experiencing panic attacks, post-traumatic stress, or thoughts of suicide.

Placing a Cost:

These damages are tricky to prove and even more troublesome to quantify because such “lifestyle” losses are both subjective and typically invisible. In personal injury lawsuits, the jury is charged with the difficult task of assigning to pain and suffering a material value.  However, no set or controlling formula exists to facilitate this process. Rather, the jury’s decision is effectively determined by the sympathies of its particular members under the given circumstances. It is the lawyer’s job is to render the victim-client’s pain and suffering real and palpable to jurors and appeal to their compassion for her plight.
